Morning Meditation
One of my favorite things to do is Meditation Painting. This past summer, I had the pleasure of teaching a series of Painting Meditations at Atithi Studios. It was the highlight of my week! I loved connecting with a group of fellow creatives and sharing a blissful moment of free painting and meditation.
Meditation painting is a therapeutic art practice that combines mindfulness with the creative freedom to create a focused and relaxed state of mind. Anyone can do this, regardless of their painting experience.

Getting Started:
Create a Peaceful Space: Designate a small, clutter-free corner of your home as your personal sanctuary. Clean off a table or desk, light a candle, play some soothing music, and grab your favorite morning beverage.
Gather Your Supplies: I love using a small sketchbook or tablet of watercolor paper and a compact set of watercolor paints.
Watch the Video: Join me for as I paint beautiful and colorful lines during my meditation.
Complete the Prompt Below: and enjoy the relaxing start to your day.
Prompt: Ombre Lines
Sit up straight in your chair and close your eyes. Take several deep breaths in and out. Turn your focus on your breath. With each inhale, give your self permission to be still in this moment. With each exhale, imagine any negativity leaving your body. When you are ready, start to paint.
Pick 2-3 colors- whatever colors are speaking to you. Make washes with each color (mix each color with some water).
Choose any size or shape brush. I am using a small round brush.
Starting at the top of your paper, paint a line with one color stopping mid way down the paper. Dip your brush in another color. Finish painting the line to the bottom of the paper. Fill your page with lines.
Feel free to play and explore as you paint: make dots with a third color on your lines, vary the pressure you apply to your paintbrush as you make your lines, don’t wash your brush and let the colors mix as you go, make one long line snaking around the page.
By following these simple steps, you can experience the transformative power of meditation painting and start your day on a positive note.
